A new BEMT tool, christened as 'StarBlades', has been developed within RealTide project, which computes the forces on a tidal turbine in realistic inflow conditions.
The code is developed in python language, which is open-source and hence available to all partners to modify and/or integrate into their own preliminary design processes. For instance, the code has been successfully integrated into the tide-to-wire model which was developed in collaboration between Bureau Veritas and University of Edinburgh.
